She is the author of the Star Leadership curriculum that is taught to over 10,000 students worldwide. The Taking Shape organization operates an orphanage and school in Port au Prince, Haiti where young leaders study the Star Leadership curriculum. She is a small town girl from rural Missouri where she and her husband Patrick have raised their family of five. \n\n\n\nIn this episode, Chabidaye and Tracey discuss:\n\nListening to the younger generations \nUsing the right framework to lead \nLeading people from where they are \nResisting the urge to swoop in \n\nKey Takeaways:\n\nWhen dealing with people from a younger or another generation, the best approach is simply to listen and understand them enough to speak their language. Don’t speak the language of your own generation, you will not be able to communicate well. \nUnderstand the skills, values, and characteristics of a person with a different generation from you. If you come in and lead with the framework of your own generation, you will have difficulties. \nLead people from where they are, not where you want them to be. Take the time to see where the person is at in their journey and find ways to guide them from the sides and not from above. \nLearn to delegate and trust those that you lead. Don’t swoop in and do it all by yourself, give them an opportunity to try. \n\n\"The job of the leader is to be able to listen, learn, guide from the sides - they are better guiding from the sides not from the top down of the pyramid - to be able to lead them where they are and move them up in their leadership and success.\" — Tracey Wozny\n\n\n\nPromotion:\n\nDo you feel the constant struggle between “balancing” your professional life and your busy home life of being a mother, a wife, perhaps a community member?
