And I’m a vehicle for God’s healing.”\n[11:43] Defining the Occult\n•\tIn medicine, “occult” means a hidden or undetected disease.\n•\tIts Latin origin means “to hide from view, cover up, or conceal” and there can also be some things that are hidden in us spiritually that hold us back from living fully.\n•\tMany diseases have spiritual roots.\n•\tGuilt and shame make us hide from God.\n[22:16] Creating Spiritual Strongholds\n•\tA cult is a secret disclosed only to those who are initiated.\n•\tIn Haiti, it’s common to see manifestations of evil and voodoo practices.\n•\tThe occult can be coupled with different religions to make it seem more acceptable.\n•\tHaiti and other countries that aren’t blinded by media and materialism accept these manifestations of demons and turn to God to cast them out.\nGeorge: “In Haiti and a lot of these other countries where they’re not distracted by all the things we’re distracted by, they see the manifestations. And then they accept that they’re there and not blinded by media and by materialism, and they have to rely on God to cast out demons of illness because they don’t have any doctors anyway.”\n[29:17] What Makes Us Walk in Darkness\n•\tDabbling in the occult can lead us down an occult road and stray from the Lord’s path.\n•\tPray, repent, and ask God to shut the door to any demonic presence in your life that might have entered through the occult.\n•\tBind the strongholds in your life and walk in Christ’s freedom.\n•\tSpend time with God.\n[37:25] Overcoming Strongholds\n•\tReceive Christ in your life because He has the power to cast out evil.\n•\tSpeak out loud that Jesus is Lord. \nGeorge: “Because the evil spirits, the non God beings can’t read your mind. You have to say it out loud. And then they know you are God’s child and they don’t have power over you.”\n•\tHave faith in God\nReagan: “No matter what darkness you feel you may be in, Jesus can overcome it. And the light will always overcome the darkness because Jesus has won the war against the enemy.
