The work is an immersive installation built from layers of keyboards, and perhaps flute and sax. Intended as a sonic healing, these “Sound Baths” are part of a series of Ellis’ “perpetual music”. Then, hear work by Brooklyn-based German-born Syrian-Palestinian-Jordanian-Lebanese composer, musician, and producer Faten Kanaan that features combinations of piano, keyboards, and electronics. Listen to her work called, “Ard Diar”, which refers to a courtyard in homes in Damascus.\nThere’s also music by French-based Russian and Ukrainian composer Evgueni Galperine which blurs the distinctions between organic and mechanical; acoustic and electronic sounds. Galperine has a background in film and television, having scored HBO’s Scenes From a Marriage, and a recent film adaptation of Madame Bovary. Plus, listen to “Steeple”, a work by cellist and composer Clarice Jensen, for layered strings, an ambient experiment for the cello, from a compilation on 7K! Records, called String Layers, Vol. II. And more.\nProgram #4718,  Electroacoustic Music (First aired 2/21/23)\nARTIST: JJJJJerome EllisWORK: Fountain #3 [1:15]RECORDING: Fountain #3SOURCE: NNA TapesINFO: jeromeellis.bandcamp.com\nARTIST: Faten KanaanWORK: Ard Diar [3:20]RECORDING: AfterpoemSOURCE: Fire RecordsINFO: firerecords.com\nARTIST: Evgueni GalperineWORK: This Town Will Burn Before Dawn [5:11]RECORDING: Theory of BecomingSOURCE: ECM New SeriesINFO: ecmrecords.com\nARTIST: Faten KanaanWORK: Cascando [4:02]RECORDING: AfterpoemSOURCE: Fire RecordsINFO: firerecords.com\nARTIST: JJJJJerome EllisWORK: Fountain #3 [8:01]RECORDING: Fountain #3SOURCE: NNA TapesINFO: jeromeellis.bandcamp.com\nARTIST: Clarice JensenWORK: Steeple [6:07]RECORDING: String Layers IISOURCE: 7K!
