In 2008 Gus was awarded for the best show on pay TV and followed this up claiming best on-air newcomer in 2010 at the Australian commercial radio awards.\n\nGus regularly features on the Today show and Sports Sunday on channel 9 and admittedly has faced his own struggles with his weight and is a strong advocate for mental fitness and developing emotional resilience. After a close friend took his own life, Gus has continued to leverage his image, identity and influence to promote mental wellbeing through the Gotcha4Life foundation which he founded in 2017. Today the foundation leads charity events, sells merchandise and offers programs led by expert facilitators such as Tomorrow Man and Weave Kids targeting high risk populations like indigenous communities.
