She ended up in the ER and heard the words, “You have cancer.” \n\nSurrounded by family and friendship, Kat found her new ‘normal’ through nine months of chemotherapy to be her involvement with work, friends, and a good glass of wine. Her story is one of choice of attitude and a commitment to win in the midst of uncertainty. Her sense of normalcy — friends and a glass of wine which she cleverly named her ‘chemo noir nights’ — became the inspiration for her passion project and nonprofit organization, Chemo Noir. \n\nChemo Noir was born in 2016 — a growing 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Jacksonville, Florida. The nonprofit hosts wine centric events that raise money to provide financial support to the families, friends and fighters in their battle with cancer. \n \n"}
