Ms. Shums has been a PA for over 10 years, and prior to entering medicine she served in the educational division of the United States Air Force. As a child Ms. Shums had the opportunity to work alongside her dad who did genetics research for a hospital in Saudi Arabia. \nDuring the pandemic, being outside in nature, exercising and talking with coworkers regularly has helped Ms Shums maintain her “balance.” Being able to form relationships with patients and families over time has allowed for her to find joy in her work. Being part of a community, and being of service, has suited her well since her post college days in the military, and Winship is fortunate to have her on our team.\n"}
